11Aug2018 1000: All Apologies

Okay hi! Hello! Obviously I'm not posting anything here this year. All my writing time is going into the novel. I finally reached the NaNoWriMo goal of 50k words on July 12th and story-wise I may even be able to wrap it up before this year's NaNoWriMo. Then I can lay back and never do this again.

I was moved to post today because I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes nonsense. The ship AIs in A Beacon of The Hope get longer names as they become more honored in society, just like the Felfel. It was always my intent to give the legendary lost ship a completely ridiculous overwrought name. The obvious inspiration would be the Iain Banks Culture novels, but! I hadn't read any of those when I began. No, I was moved to satirize the verbosity of Twilight Mirage. I love Austin Walker's videogame criticism, but one consequence of following his Twitter is that I am inundated with his roleplaying posts and all. those. words. This week's example was dense enough to extract this post from me.

Keep this in mind as you read the tale of Vil, Ish, Pip, and Cheeseburger On The Table. Keep in mind that you won't learn what Cheeseburger On The Table calls itself until the end of chapter 23. Keep in mind that I intend this story to be a blade between the ribs of literature. If space is for everyone, space must also be for assholes.
